it's absolutely wild to me that people think this is true, the vast majority of cats i meet will barely hesitate to declare utter strangers family and blithely be picked up like a baby by them.

our family's cat is barely even capable of hunting mice, simply just not enough braincells to properly finish the job, so they bring a half-dead rodent inside and hope we know what to do with it.
