I have, yeah. While I was traveling internationally and the roaming mobile data rates were insane. So I used the VPN while connecting to hotel/public wifi.
Wait how does that help with roaming charges?
Instead of using mobile data he used public Wi-fi through VPN.
Oh like the vpn is just to encrypt traffic on the public wifi it doesnt help with roaming itself. That makes sense
Right. Not about to use public WiFi naked!
Just use the free tier of Proton VPN, it's a million times better
