Not to rain on anyone's parade but I'd be shocked in reddit hard deletes comments given how valuable that data is.
It would at least affect people adding 'reddit' to google searches if they start to encounter a lot of posts with information they're looking for edited out.
If you submit a request under GDPR "right to be forgotten" they are mandated to comply. (As long you are EU citizen)
Not that GDPR violations are uncommon, but at least it seems the regulators are capable of slapping companies with hefty fines.
