That's not the question. The question is, why are people satisfied with Meta as a service provider, given everything they know about them.
And the answer is: Instagram. People don't actually associate Instagram with Meta in the same way they do with Facebook, given that one used to be the name of the company.
Threads is an extension to Instagram. Hell, most Twitter users jumping over probably didn't even need to create an account, because they're already active on Instagram.
This is pretty true. I was talking to my gf abt meta making Instagram threads and she was confused why meta was making a product under the Instagram label before I told her that meta owned Instagram. Tbf to her she hasn't installed Instagram in years so its not like she would see meta branding in their current app or whatever they do.
