It’s been a really long time because I’ve just been too busy and stressed. But I’m getting the urge to bake.
I’m now taking suggestions. I’m thinking a bread of some kind and a shareable dessert bake for visiting a friends house for dinner on Sunday 🤔
Italian orange bread

My thoughts are Warner is shit. Has been shit for awhile now. Don't know how he gets a gig still. Let's hope Steve Smith stays in for awhile.

Yeah. Warner either goes for less than 10 runs or plays really and goes to 90+. Nothing in between.

Banana bread, can’t go wrong unless someone’s allergic to bananas
Yeah, I definitely think I’ll have to make some out of pure necessity: I bought 5 last weekend because mr omokiri had his wisdom teeth out on Monday and mentioned that he might like to have some smoothies while on his liquid diet. He has had approximately nome of them so far.
Ah with smoothies as a liquid diet, add some corn flakes in it, it’s a bit more weighty and full feeling. What I do when making a smoothie: make a banana smoothie, add Kellogg’s cornflakes and blue berries and churn that up. Fulling, not thick depending on how much cereal you add, just a little will be enough and the blueberries are a good source of fibre, vitamin c and antioxidants. If blueberries is not a go because it’s not like then raspberry or blackberry is also good back up. Delicious. I need to get back into smoothies but haven’t made them because cold
Banana would be the easy one but I’ll throw in my personal favourite of apple and cinnamon.

Croissants maybe? And an apple & rhubarb crumble for dessert. Just the weather for it. Or an apple clafoutis ... dead easy and delicious.
I have the urge to bake croissants so badly. BUT I got the Lune cookbook for Christmas and I’ve not had a chance to try their recipe yet. It’s a 3 day minimum bake, so I’m making myself hold out a few more months until the PhD is done and I don’t have responsibilities so that I can set aside an entire weekend to do them.
A clafoutis sounds like a delicious idea actually. I could make mini ones and take some in to my nan in respite care.
Clafoutis is one my go tos for an easy impressive dessert. Did up a pineapple one once that was amaaaazing. The basic batter works with any reasonably moist fruit. Except citrus unfortunately which is a bummer at this time of year. Recommend butterscotch sauce with apple though once cooked.

On Everyday Gourmet show I saw a chocolate Bavarian pie from Beatrix Bakes chef. Looked so good. I have put it onto my endlessly growing to-bake list. https://everydaygourmet.tv/recipes/chocolate-bavarian-pie Buuut, it’s winter so a hot dessert might be better. Maybe a lemon delicious, or brownies heated up,or apple pie. All with icecream of course.
I actually have the Beatrix bakes cookbook but I’ve never once made anything out of it. I wonder if I could have a dig through it and find something
