I’m teaching a class that involves the students having to watch a movie each week to accompany the content being taught. I’ve watched a lot of the prescribed films in the past, but I need to brush up on them before the semester starts. So I have 10 to watch in a few weeks.

Getting started with the first one. Made a cuppa and put on Harakiri.

I loved cinema classes back in uni and being able to watch films I had never seen before. Got to watch There Will Be Blood through the class, love that film.

This is a pretty fun class. I’m excited to teach it. I am by no means a film person. I am, however a nerd. So while I may not understand how camera angles can serve as an insight into how the doctor views the effects of neoliberal economic structures on modern day society, I can talk at length about nerdy shit. It’s gonna be great.

Well hey, I know my film shit so if there's anything you're a bit confused about that you can't Google. Give me a shout. I am a film nerd.

I want to be in this class :'(

The only time I ever watched a movie for a uni class was The Castle - in a translation and interpreting subject

Low key though, The Castle is a really good example of the challenges of translating haha
