You won't find a lot of that here anyway. But it would not be a good rule, because there may be occasions where it's deserved. Remember Russia also forces Ukrainians from occupied territories to fight for them too! Some are drafted against their will.
From what you state I agree, sounds like there should at least have been notice.
Personally I don't watch those things, they are anecdotal and I don't think it's healthy to watch.
