Top rated for me

Series that got me into anime in the first place:

Fullmetal Alchemist (and Brotherhood), a great introduction to anime with a fantasy world and awesome cast
Outlaw Star, like Cowboy Bebop but a bit less popular

Series I loved at the time:

Akame ga Kill, dark fantasy with a great cast
Angel Beats, a feel good series featuring lots of great characters
Steins;Gate, sci-fi with fate and cute characters
Attack on Titan, action action action - but I only watched the first season because after that I heard it got kinda bad
Re:Zero, where I met my waifu Rem
No Game No Life, lolis furries and Mecha girls, what more could you ask for
