I just had a burst of motivation to use an appliance I've owned for years and only used maybe 3 times ever. I'm not sure I've even used it once in this apartment and I moved here in 2018.

It's a pressure cooker which also does slow cooking, I think. I feel like making some sort of yum fall-apart meat based.. thing.. but not sure what.

Just make sure the lid is on:

This reminds me of the time I was given a deep fryer when I first moved out of home. I may have had too much oil in it and turned up too high because when I lowered my frozen chips into it a tremendous giant fireball flew across the ceiling. Very similar to the crown fire show.

Now the door in between my kitchen and lounge is glass so my husband comes running in "what the fuck just happened"? My answer "I don't know but we are not having chips tonight". What saved my ceiling was the fact it is wood panelled otherwise there would have been a giant scorch mark across it to remind me of my stupidity.

Lamb is the answer.

Lamb shanks, pork shoulder, beef brisket or just plain chuck steak & veg. This sort of thing is GREAT for the cheaper cuts of meat that need long slow cooking in moisture, but are seriously yum when you do. A beef daube (fancy for pot roast) would be pretty damn yum too.

Hmm I might have to shop tonight and think about using it tomorrow instead, just looking at the time and my afternoon meetings.

I had a scroll through the express recipes on the device and I could maybe do one of the easy/quick ones tonight like gnocchi with pancetta

Have a look at instapot recopies for inspiration.

I'm having a look, it looks like it also steams. Very nice.
