I’ve missed the DT for a few days.

Been trying to deal with this ear infection (ongoing since Thursday). GP is switching me to anti-fungal treatment (gross to think about). I’m so frustrated over the ongoing pain, lack of sleep & blocked hearing.

This was also meant to be my first week off work in 8 months (and I’d planned to be job searching to escape my toxic workplace). Thinking of returning to work likely still dealing with this ear BS makes me cry.

I sometimes feel when we’re about to get some time off or you’re about to go on leave that your body lets you down and you end up sick.

Hope you’ll get better soon!

it's the stress response. Basically: Your body knows it has breathing space and stops pretending it's ok

Absolutely believe this was the case. As did my manager who laughed about me likely being sick for my whole time off. 😒

hugs

Get a doctor's note. If you're sick on your leave you can have it switched to sick leave as opposed to annual and get those days back in your bank.

I tried. The GP I saw (my regular one being away) was not sympathetic to my leave issue. Bah-humbug.
