Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! ✈️

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Pansin ko lang, nag nose dive na moderation sa rph. I don’t know if it’s just me but the posts are all over.

Yeah. Kaumay nga eh.

There are people there who want escapism due to how things are now. So they come up with casual low-effort content, thinking it's fun than reading depressing or infuriating news headlines. Coping mechanism nila... as if r/casualPH wasn't big enough.

Also, some people also wanting to get rid of the very things that make us Filipino, and expect to ape another supposedly advanced Asian culture, so posting threads about it. It's that same supposedly "intelligent" mindset which brought us the likes of, duh, GetRealPhilippines and Defensor-Santiago.
