Was struck by massive pangs of hunger earlier today and wolfed down dinner, though I didn't want to feel like I was eating my hosts out of house and home. It was delicious and I ate a fair bit but NOW I'M HUNGRY AGAIN and it's hard to fall asleep. I don't know where this seemingly insatiable hunger has come from but that's one of the sacrifices of not staying at your own accommodation. Total freedom to pig out.

Given that I'm paying $0 on accom maybe I'll treat myself to dinner in the Brisbane CBD on the weekend. There's this nice Indonesian place that's opened up after starting out as a little stall in an industrial area. It ain't cheap but it looks good and I hope they're paying their workers fairly. Look at this menu (PDF). I think I'll have the nasi kapau with jackfruit rendang and the ketoprak. Might post on the food sub if I make it there.

hrmm for me I'd be looking at VO5 but also FS4 Ikan nila terbang. I've never had tilapia or even seen it on a menu.

Very common in SEA, tilapia. Nice to see that and catfish here. VO5 looks like something you could make yourself. With homegrown chillos. Sambals are so satisfying 🌶
