Like I get it there's less people so less content but come on, using bots to just repost shit from reddit? What are we, 9gag now?

According to mods it's a huge fucking issue. These small instances have hundreds of bots registering. Not surprising that a lot of them are just reposting shit from reddit. Most likely they are astroturfing so it seems like this place is full of bots. Instance moderators need to defedrate from these bit instances as soon as they pop up.

This is partially true, but some of the bots are for creating content to jump-start smaller communities. Those bot owners typically have 1 alt account for the bot, they aren't building 1000 accounts.

There are some instances getting flooded with bot creations though.
