I actually generally prefer posting WW1-era stuff or oddities, but after getting a bunch of tankies bitching on photos I posted of the Romanian Revolution (Cake-Distributor was my favorite of those), I didn't want to change theme and make it seem like they could bitch their way into silence over Soviet-aligned atrocities.

I'll post one or two more, but if the tankie howling dies down, I'll let it lie there. I don't want to turn HistoryPorn into a place just to hate on the Sovs, but I also don't want to contribute to it spreading a culture of denialism over Soviet atrocities.

Nazis have always loved the chance to defend themselves in WW2, and white supremacists here in the US are probably the biggest haters of communism in this country, hands down. So if you're not leading up to "nazis were right all along" then what are you even getting at?

Cuz there's clearly only two political ideologies throughout history. Nazis and Soviets. Making one look bad makes the other look good.
That's the only possible way that acknowledging Soviet genocides makes Nazis look good.
gentle reminder that the Soviets were perfectly content with Nazi Germany until Nazi Germany invaded all of Poland instead of sharing it with the Soviets.

That's just not how it works... Showing the bombing of Dresden by the Allies wouldn't make the Nazis look like 'the good guys' either.
