The horse mechanic where it slows down if your mouse is close to it is driving me insane. (lemmy.world)

In order to not slow down on my horse, especially if traveling vertically on screen, I have to peg my mouse to the edges of the screen. I think this is ridiculous, why the **** would you ever want to get on your horse and go slower. I haven't found any way to get around it either. Anyone else?

Yeah it's pretty annoying. I think it can work on mouse but the way it's implemented is not great.

Reduce the variability ring around the player, and maybe make it elliptical/lerp between player and edge of screen closest to mouse, instead of a fixed circle.

Or hell, just remove the variability on PC and give us a "walk/gallop" toggle, and keep the sprint options for gallop. Best of both worlds.
