Bet it was a mynah. They're feisty buggers. Every time my dog goes to our local park she's surrounded by a squadron of loudly swearing mynahs swooping her, to which she is hilariously oblivious.

Nope, from what little I saw it was larger than a mynah, a warm tannish brown with white spots on the belly and wings. It might have had some kind of eyeliner.

I’ll have to spend longer and listen to calls but google thinks it might be a kind of starling
