I’m surprised they are even making a Dune 2. Dune was kind of hard to sit through.
I only vaguely remember it having a Romeo and Juliet-esque story plot. I think Zendaya’s character has some dream that connects her with some rich asshole from across the galaxy or something.
edit: this film apparently won multiple Oscars in 2022. I’ll have to give it another shot lol
Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But I thought it was a really good adaptation. That's a tricky novel to convert to the screen, because of all the internal monologues and the complex plot. But they did a really good job with it, especially as it has an authentic 'Dune vibe'.
It's slow, people have short attention spans and need more boom noises. It's not for everyone. It's like blade runner 2049, great movie but never going to have mass appeal.
The Oscars are now a circlejerk. Don't rewatch Dune unless you are a masochist.
