The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is a non-repeating base-20 and base-18 calendar used by several pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures, most notably the Maya. For this reason, it is often known as the Maya Long Count calendar. Using a modified vigesimal tally, the Long Count calendar identifies a day by counting the number of days passed since a mythical creation date that corresponds to August 11, 3114 BCE in the proleptic Gregorian calendar. The Long Count calendar was widely used on monuments.

Background

The two most widely used calendars in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica were the 260-day Tzolkʼin and the 365-day Haabʼ. The equivalent Aztec calendars are known in Nahuatl as the Tonalpohualli and Xiuhpohualli.

The combination of a Haabʼ and a Tzolkʼin date identifies a day in a combination which does not occur again for 18,980 days (52 Haabʼ cycles of 365 days equals 73 Tzolkʼin cycles of 260 days, approximately 52 years), a period known as the Calendar Round. To identify days over periods longer than this, Mesoamericans used the Long Count calendar.

The Long Count calendar is divided into five distinct units:

  • one day - kin
  • 20 days - uinal
  • 360 days - tun
  • 7,200 days - katun
  • 144,000 days - baktun

Mesoamerican numerals

Long Count dates are written with Mesoamerican numerals, as shown on this table. A dot represents 1 while a bar equals 5. The shell glyph was used to represent the zero concept. The Long Count calendar required the use of zero as a place-holder and presents one of the earliest uses of the zero concept in history.

I really wish my friend just let me front the money for us both to get weed like 5 days ago when I fucking wanted to because I ended up doing that anyway but now she's been working and shit and hasn't had time to pick up angery

I haven't done this but if you're in America I heard there's a lot of legal THC alternatives for decent quality and price that can be bought online and delivered

Like THC A, delta 8 or something, I'm not sure which ones specifically

nah they ain't good, the high is not the same, the effects on my sleep and appetite are not the same, I really do not recommend delta 8 or HHC or any of the various other technically-legal cannabinoids to anyone if real weed is an option

it's really fucking absurd that I can literally buy THC products, too, but they have to be ridiculously huge gummies with only like 10mg of thc in them to meet the weight requirements and are prohibitively expensive

she should be getting us shit tonight tho

I only do edibles when my tolerance is low. That way I can actually get high off of 10mg, but when I've been smoking regularly 10mg won't do shit.

I've known people who take ridiculously high THC edibles on a regular basis and that's a crazy expensive habit, and it makes it real hard to quit.

You friend had reasons even if you don't understand what they are. Maybe they needed to take a few days off for finacial reasons. If they bought a bag 5 days ago they'd need another bag 5 days sooner. If you need weed on your schedule get your own dealer. If your friend has a hookup that's advantageous to you then they are doing you the favor. Don't make your needs someone else's problem. Its a good way to fuck up a friendship. I've been on both sides of this.

her reason was that she thought she was getting paid tuesday/wednesday but didn't and now we're both out of weed for no reason
