Got an address not found error when I clicked on it
Hmm.. That's a shame. I can confirm that it doesn't work for me in Jerboa either, but it does work on the website. Looks like Jerboa doesn't handle URLs in that format correctly and tries to open it in a browser.

Jerboa is still trying to open it outside of the app for some reason. It's a different 404 page than last time so some might call it progress.
Edit. Tried the link again and got a 502 bad gateway error
I tried to search for the community from lemmy.ca (that's the instance you're on right?) and couldn't find it. Perhaps lemmy.ca can't see the community yet. I don't know. I still don't know how all this federated stuff works yet, I've only been here a couple of days.
Looks like perhaps Jerboa doesn't have a way to link to communities in a universal way like the website does. Shame, but I'm sure it will come.
