David Moyes' future at West Ham is under serious threat following a row over recruitment.

Mail Sport understands that the Scot may depart in the near future leaving the Hammers searching for a manager ahead of the new season.

Tensions have been rising throughout the summer amid a difference in opinion on transfer targets between Moyes, new technical director Tim Steidten and co-owner David Sullivan.

Moyes is keen to bring in players with Premier League experience such as James Ward-Prowse and Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay.

However, he has faced hurdles getting those deals over the line with others wanting to go in another direction.

Those tensions have now reached breaking point with a feeling that the departure of Moyes or Steidten is inevitable.

It can also be disclosed that West Ham have a hit-list of replacements should Moyes be shown the door.

If Moyes is sacked at such a late stage of the summer it will further raise questions over West Ham's ownership and strategy.

Fans have hoped that the £105million received for Declan Rice would have been invested in squad strengthening however that has failed to materalise.

Moyes took training as normal on Friday and is set to fly to Germany ahead of West Ham's final pre-season friendly of the summer against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

West Ham open the new Premier League campaign at Bournemouth next Saturday.

as said in the article Moyes wants to spend it, the new DoF wants to spend it very differently, hence the tension.
