This is beyond fkd up. There's a Michael Crichton novel Next that has an extremely similar premise where the rights to a living character's DNA fell under eminent domain and was upheld by courts of law. So his DNA could be sourced and used without his consent. Super interesting fkd up read that is apparently become a non-fiction topic now.
