Welcome! We've got memes on deck at [email protected] and if you're a programmer of some kinds we got [email protected] to scratch that itch and be sure to drop a shit(post) off at [email protected] or if you want SCIENCE and memes head over to the wonderful [email protected] or if you just want regular SCIENCE mander.xyz is full of sciency comms like [email protected] and [email protected] . [email protected] is also nice this time of year, but you'll have to post before you can leave.

We're not without our cons though, biggest problem we have are probably the Tankies (Authoritarian "communists" who will overlook any wrong doings of China, Russia, NK because they think their governments are the "gold standard"), but here they're mostly on the Tankie Triad lemmy.ml, lemmygrad and hexbear. You have a .ee account so you only have to worry about .ml, but on Lemmy you can do a personal instance wide block if you'd rather just not deal with them. If you want to see what they get up to from a safe distance check [email protected]

Solidarity amongst the instances! We will not be divided against each other!

feudposting is cringe

hey cm0002 why are you on lemmy.cafe now?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 23 hours ago

Trying to shore up against .ml brigading, before I was instance-banned so .ml users couldn't see my posts n stuff. Then 2 months later, totally not coinciding with a recent meme I posted, davel was so kind as to fix that and only manually ban me from .ml comms individually so that .ml users could see and brigade my posts and comments again

To censor any criticism of his defederation jihad against politics to his left.

I'm new myself, thanks for the recommendations. While you're at it, do you happen to know of any good political/religion debate .. subs? what are they called here? I'm going to call them subs for now. Maybe some Anarchist and non-tankie Communist subs?

The equivalent to a Reddit "sub" is a Threadiverse "community" (Threadiverse or Forumverse, or maybe just Verse now?, anyway meaning the subset of the wider Fediverse, so like the latter includes Mastodon but the former is only the community-based Lemmy, Mbin, and PieFed).

The anarchy & communism instances are slrpnk.net and lemmy.dbzer0.com. Beware the fake communism, "tankie" triad of hexbear.net (or wherever they moved to, after they forgot to renew their own domain name), lemmygrad.ml, and lemmy.ml. Actually the former 2 should be defederated from you on Lemmy.world already, while the latter is sometimes okay, yet also batshit insane at the same time. You'll see... and if you ever forget to follow one of their entirely unwritten rules (not kidding), you'll be banned from every community on the entire instance, including those you've never even heard of.

Happy explorations!:-)

Ah, fair enough, thanks! // Yeah I looked into Hexbear briefly and it didn't seem like my jam, but I'll check out slrpnk and dbzer0.

Well there's [email protected] and [email protected] [email protected]

For anarchism specifically, I'm not sure, I think [email protected] maybe

For religion, not sure, religious comms are quite small here ATM, maybe [email protected] could be a good fit

Thanks, that ought to get me started.
