r/RetroGaming is very strict about retro. They say the Nintendo 64 is retro while the PlayStation 2 is modern. This despite the fact the PlayStation 2 is now 25 years old.

So I got to wonder about this community deems as “retro”.

Or a better question: what’s considered retro and not retro? What’s the fine line between retro and modern?

@[email protected] Hey, I completely forgot about checking that dictionary out at the library, and not long ago I just happened to be in that town 20 minutes from home, walking past the library and It reminded me. So I just went in and found the Macquarie Dictionary 6th Edition (2013) and looked up the word. Here's the definition - There seems to be 2 definitions here:

Ha, nice! Sounds about right. Something that has "become fashionable again". Like 8-bit graphics in modern games. The prefix (hence the dash) meaning "backward" is more literal, like retrospect, which means to look back.
