Lol, when in history have capitalists ever been held accountable? Mild slaps on the wrist (including supposed jail time, which is neve gong to come to be, and if it is, it'll be of a sacrificial manager, not the owners) aren't going to change shit as long as the system that enables them exists.
Would it be nice to see those in charge get locked up? Sure! But it's never going to happen, and without other systemic change, even if it did (but it won't), it's still just applying a band aid to a brain tumour.
Rockefeller spent his waning years constantly in and out of court, to the detriment of his health.
It's hardly perfect justice, but it clearly made a difference. Arguably much of his charity late in life was meant to head off the consequences of his previous choices.
We see similar effort by Bill Gates. I think for the same reason.
I don't disagree that there's no such thing as real justice. But I think it's worth the effort to pursue it.
Have you looked around lately?
Lmfao, I guess not.
If nothing else, at least you can say that the billionaires have successfully pulled the wool over your eyes.
I'm not a fan of billionaires. I also don't think we should throw in the towel and not try to use every tool, including the legal system, to keep them in check.
"Billionaires don't face consequences" is part of their sales pitch. The more people believe it, the less likely people are to follow through when it matters.
