Hi all! Awesome to have new people participating and contributing, thanks for helping make this place more than an echo chamber!

While trying the various paid music services I noticed something interesting- links from Tidal offer gateways to almost every other streaming service when clicked. Here's an example:

From here you can choose your preferred service and in theory the track starts playing. It isn't perfect, but I thought it was a much nicer implementation of music sharing than a link that's useless to people who don't use a given service.

I suspect the vast majority of people browsing in communities like this are just scanning titles for names that they recognize without actually interacting with the links. Being able to access a bunch of streaming services from title links is a way better means of discovering new music than having to manually search for every track on whatever service you happen to use. Long-term or in a perfect world it would be great to have a bot that posts a top level comment with some information about the song or the band and links to the relevant services. In the real world I don't have the energy to bother with all that lol.

Anyways I thought it was worth passing on that there's more to Tidal links than it may seem. Keep the garden rocking 🤘
