Posting Expectations:

- Try to avoid liberalism unless discussing electoral politics. Even then, try to focus on tactical agreement towards leftist goals
- Only one meta post seeking consensus per person per day
- Posts about a particular ideology are ok, but remember the rules above
- Remember that there is no “right way” to implement leftist theory. This rule does not prevent academic criticism.
- Try to avoid extremely sensitive topics unless approaching them with appropriate care for intersectionality. Use your best judgement, and be prepared to provide respectable sources when having these discussions. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source in these cases.
- Post titles must be meaningful and relevant, except on weekends

Why is this third considered to be representative of the "moderate republican"?
Look, I just got my coffee, it's four am, and you are asking me to effectively explain the previous 40 years of American politics to you.
I want to trust that you are asking in good faith, and that you deserve an explanation here, but I'm burnt out in the equivocation right now. So just give me a small signal that my time isn't wasted here and I can explain this to you .
I'm sorry. To me it seemed like something the more politically involved voter would do.
I don’t think that’s the response they were after.
You could have tried something like:
See I acknowledged OPs comment and tried to explain my motivations for the question. You, on the other hand, you called them out for rightfully wanting to value their time.
That's alright. Simply trying to understand the relationship between that graph, and the conclusion the author took from that.
But I see now that this might not be the appropriate crowd to question that relationship.
Sure, everyone is downvoting you but you can’t be the constant here and it must be this entire community.
Perhaps someone more eloquent than me can come along and explain why your approach fell on deaf ears.

Usually, communities on lemmy are quite more patient with me. That's what I meant to say.

Apologies if my comments came across as confrontational, my intention was to give my perspective on how yours were received.
I know it isn’t often easy to come back and say sorry and take an introspective look and anybody that does that gets my respect 100% of the time.
