His point is that it's fine to hate certain cars but that you still shouldn't mock the people driving them. I think that's kind of a dumb line to draw, but it's not hypocritical or inconsistent.
I am going to judge people by their actions.
Right, but saying "I hate the Prius" is not mockery.
