An Israeli attack on Beit Lahiya, a town in northern Gaza, killed at least 73 Palestinians on Saturday evening, according to the enclave's government media office.

More than 100 others were wounded and several people missing.

Israeli air strikes targeted a multi-floor building and damaged a number of nearby houses, medics in the Gaza Strip reported.

The government media office said that Israeli forces had bombed overcrowded residential areas in Beit Lahiya, adding that women and children were amongst the casualties.

Never said I support one side or the other .... I think they're all religious nuts

What I do find repugnant is the death of any human for completely stupid reasons, especially if the deaths are caused by other humans.

I don't support religions or religious ideology ... but I do respect all human life regardless of who believes in what.

This a completely stupid situation because no deaths should be taking place on any side and the world should just step in as the global referee, get these people to stop, sit down, negotiate and figure out a solution that doesn't involve having to kill one side or the other. If we're going to spend billions and trillions on bombs and guns for this problem ... then we can invest in peaceful solutions rather than in trying to dance our way to nuclear war and killing far more people than those in the Middle East.
