Legit question, any way to get into the antarctic research statiom without having a PhD or being a grad student
Having so much money you can dictate terms to world governments is quite popular these days.
My friends uncle worked in Antarctica as a janitor/matinence guy
This, I remember that some 20 years ago when going to the Antarctica for a PhD seemed like a good idea, I found a job where they were looking for a plumber. The pay was insane at that time
Think they could use an electrician?

There are several different arctic programs.. take a look at the different programs, maybe you’ll find something
Probably! Edit: actually, yes: https://www.amentumcareers.com/jobs/search?country_codes%5B%5D=AQ&page=2&query=Antarctica
Plumber? What for? Don't they just dig up ice and melt it?🤔
Do you think a PhD knows how to fix a toilet?
That was two different things, I was checking if there are any fun offers there and found this one. I wouldn't start my plumbing career in -40C
I guess poop needs to go somewhere, too
It doesn't come out as frozen shards that you can just throw away?😵💫
This is the answer, if you're not in academia you likely need to be in logistics, maintenance, or be a doctor/nurse.
You probably thought of snowmobile and bolt cutters already
That's the easy part, crossing the sea from Tierra del Fuego to Antártica is where it gets hairy
Firefighter, cook, medic, manager, air traffic controller, pilot, driver, heavy equipment operator...
