I mean, they do realize that interest in a game wiki will die out over time, right?

Seriously. Playercount had already dropped like 90%. The moment to cash in has already passed.

"A little bit of money so I'm not paying out of pocket to host this" sure, I get it. Replace your main income? Get over yourself.

Also - are they aware that website ad revenue isn't that much?

If they're lucky, it's just enough to pay for maintenance.
