City buses don't like to be lonely, that's why they travel in groups, especially if they are serving the same route.
Long ago, busses traveled so closely in groups that there were mechanical linkages between each bus
But then, everything changed when the cars attacked
Only the double-decker mastered all four routes
Also you could base a true random number generator on the bus timings.
