And even during the war everybody just used bombs to attack cities, not gas.

At least I'm fairly certain this was the case, I've never heard about chemtrail warplanes in WW2

I was curious about this. According to Wikipedia, the Allies had stockpiles of chemical weapons but war leaders were against using them first (except Churchill, apparently) out of fear of the civilian reaction should it become known that the Allies used them first. The Allied side had them in theater, however, and there was an incident in Bari, Italy where an accidental release of mustard gas occurred after an Axis attack, leading to a number of deaths from exposure to the gas. The UK government apparently didn't admit this until the mid-1980s.
