Besides having the latest version available, what do Ubuntu users who run MariaDB wish to see in future versions of MariaDB, or how it is integrated and packaged in Ubuntu?

I am the maintainer in Ubuntu - looking for feedback and ideas.

4 distinguishing features when installing on Ubuntu: 1.) It works on the smallest tier virtual machines on every public cloud; 2.) 100% reliable fax over IP extensions supported out of the box; 3.) fail2ban enabled with customizable ignoreip configurations; 4.) also includes long running database and disk cleanup crontab entries to clear call recordings (if enabled), CDR and CEL tables, and stale voicemail recordings.

As described in this AskUbuntu post, basically every time there's some audio playback, there is a variable delay when the audio starts. It can range from anything like a fraction of a second to a full two seconds.

I noticed this first when playing YouTube videos and then it was excruciatingly obvious and a real problem while editing audio in Audacity.

If it's any good, I'm still under X, not Wayland, and using Pulse Audio.

My audio is going to my HDMI connected monitor where my speakers are connected.

This is only happening since I did a fresh install of Kubuntu 24.04 earlier this September.

I've installed Ubuntu 24.04 on my original MS Surface Pro tablet and it works very well except for a few flaws here and there. I've heard KDE Plasma has better touchscreen support and features so I decided to give it a whirl using a live USB key.

So far so good, but there's only one really crucial part that I'm missing: an on screen virtual keybaord. This doesn't even come out of the box with the distro?

SO far I've tried onboard but the damn thing segfaults seconds after being opened.

Do you have any recommendations for on screen virtual keyboards in KDE Plasma? Preferably something QT based that integrates well with KDE.

I've always disabled that feature since it doesn't play nice with Linux and it seemed complicated for no real benefit.

Have any of you tried installing Ubuntu with secure boot? Is it complicated? What's the process like?
