Really blows apart the whole argument that this has anything to do with the war.

The funny part is that this supports Russia's case in the eyes of the rest of the world.

I think a big part of it that right wingers tend to focus more on emotions. They don't try to develop a deep understanding of problems, and what real tangible solutions might look like. They largely unite over perceived issues and general dislike of other people. This makes it easy to create big tent groups where a lot of people hate different things and they see that as complimentary.

On the other hand, people typically move to the left because they've developed a more nuanced understanding of the world. And since they genuinely want to improve things they become more particular about the details and the shape of the proposed solutions. This results in a lot more debates and friction between leftists since people can become very passionate about the validity of their ideas.

Incidentally, politics is just one manifestation of this phenomenon. This is a common thing in software development where people will argue over the merits of different approaches to solving problems. Different programming languages, and technology stacks. You see a very similar kind of passion expressed there. And the common thread is that it's experts debating tangible solutions to real problems they have deep understanding of.

Oh I just got to Jedha. It's a good game. The action is pretty fun, and the story is pretty solid so far.

Just finished Selaco, can highly recommend if you're into retro shooters. Absolutely blown away with what they managed to do with GZDoom engine too. Currently, giving Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor a shot. It's sort of like mobile tower defence. A fun game to pick up and pass a bit of time. Also playing Jedi Survivor, it's a pretty solid adventure game.

My favorite genres tend to be story based games like Detroit Become Human, or Roguelikes. I find I don't have a huge amount of time for games nowadays, so I prefer stuff that's not grindy that I can just pick up and play without having to remember how the game works. :)

And negative on TGA.

Looking forward to new Mass Effect, but not sure if it's coming out in 2025 or not.

A good way to understand the contrast between single-party and multi-party systems is to view single-party states as more socially advanced in certain respects. A multi-party system implies that the society has yet to settle on a unified path forward or a definitive set of societal goals. Various factions within a multi-party system often focus on different issues and hold distinct visions for society.

These systems often face challenges in setting and achieving long-term goals. A government with a limited tenure will find it difficult to implement effective long-term planning. Consequently, these systems are incapable of rapid change, and progress within this framework tends to be incremental. This poses challenges in times of crisis when decisive action is needed.

Conversely, single-party systems often suggest a broader societal consensus regarding overarching goals. The primary function of the party then becomes facilitating progress towards these goals. Debates within single-party systems are focused on optimizing the implementation of agreed-upon goals, rather than fundamentally debating the direction itself. As a result, progress happens more rapidly and efficiently.

It might've been organic initially, but it quickly turned into a roach motel for leftists.

with things ramping up in West Asia, I suspect all of Ukraine is rapidly transitioning into strategically unimportant territory
