I really kept on reading TBP because of the potential pay off. I started TDF for the same, people here kept recommending it and they all agreed on giving it a chance to get better around the third árt of the book. That´s why I started reading it even after the bore it was TBP, because the pay off and I think that is why people seem to love it, because they focus on the end result but don´t give a second thought about how did they get there.

I read it in like a couple of hours, I didn´t quite enjoy it but it was certainly a different experience, like a fever dream about body horror, glad it was very short.
I wnet in just knowing the basic premise of TBP. I think is like 95% set up and 5% pay off. The las part of the book was quite enjoyable but I had to push too much to get there. It seems is the same for TDF.
Hahaha, yes, I have on my TBR list We Are Legion. I ws going to read it maybe four to five books after TDF.
Maybe a little hard to compare TBP with those...
Thanks, I´ll check it out.
Yeah, I´m just ranting here but you´re right, maybe I´ll stop reading it.
I like the ideas and concepts, that´s why I keep pushing.
American Gods is an excellent example of niche books, I liked it but I can see how it can be a bore for many people.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had Stories of Your Life in my head since I watched just before bed a video on YT about sci-fi books, I didn´t take note of it trusting my memory. Thanks to uoy, I have it now on my Kindle.
Agree, Dark Matter and Recursion are a breeze to read, I want to read Upgrade even though it seems from the reviews it is not at the same level.
