First Nations blessing is a bit of a gray area because they are not necessarily performed as a religious practice. Instead of a prayer, it’s interpreted (by those present) more like a First Nations representative formally acknowledging that the decisions about to be made are made with their participation.
It’s a cultural complexity that elders are often also seen as religious leaders and they’ll often speak in religious terms, but their blessing is foremost under the guise of a representative - not a cleric.
As for a regular Christian prayer… its sole purpose is a ritual for those in that religion.
Good book. Surprisingly sympathetic to men, which makes the whole thing a lot more palatable to the target audience.
Great recommendation.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Crazy high increases for Burnaby while Vancouver goes down a little bit. High density in the burbs seems to be working!
For me, yes. I’ll have to vote for these same liars over and over to keep Cons and United out. They (NDP) do get some things right once in a while, so it’s a small victory.
My main example is rooibos because at least it can make espresso-like strong brews, and is sold at some coffee shops here and there. But I personally prefer Mate too, though for cold drinks :-) And if I’m just in for some caffeine, black tea is the easiest to source (around here). Matcha latte is also growing in popularity! As well as London Fog.
I love all of these, but I’m one of those tea-adventurous coffee drinkers who care about the taste more than the caffeine.
Tldr climate apocalypse for the coffee plant might shift the market towards alternative plants. While technically true that coffee plantations will struggle in the coming years, this just means higher prices and worse average quality off the shelf.
A bit of nothing news, imho.
Coffee alternatives like rooibos are already here and the market is very resistant. Cheap coffee drinkers are irrationally attached to the bad taste they feel nostalgic for. Fancy coffee drinkers will absorb the higher costs without looking for alternatives. It’s only the tea-adventurous coffee drinkers that care about these innovations, usually due to caffeine consumption restrictions which is also a disputed market because decaf coffee quality is improving.
The “another” law in question
Graduated driving licences could see a minimum supervised learning period, curfews and a limit to the number of passengers new drivers can carry.
Of course reckless drivers who were going to drive drunk won’t respect these either, but also these are laws that can dissuade parents from giving/lending their cars. Surprisingly a bunch of parents are oblivious to their kids drinking and driving patterns, but a blanket ruling like this might help.
Never have I ever seen so many pickup trucks and SUV ads as I’m seeing today. Ford, built tough or something. Big truck is adventurous. Big truck is barbecue with a big block of meat. Ugh, disgusting.
It’s not chaotic at all imho, it’s most often pretty organized. The landing and takeoff area is off limits, but once in a while someone will end up there anyway.
