There was an article last week about how Ukraine is spoofing GPS signals to the drones and then they turn around and go back to Russia or Belarus. Maybe that's what happened here?

I take your point but this was not the case for these people I was talking to. I pay their salaries and health insurance and they still take home 6 figures a year after all deductions.

Then they sit there complaining about gas prices and how Biden is running their lives when it's a worldwide thing and they have it better than 99% of the rest of humanity. Biden can't do shit about world wide issues.

I had this exact conversation several times with Americans while travelling for work in the USA.

Oil prices are up around the world and USA gas prices are actually really cheap compared to everywhere else.

In fact everything is pretty cheap compared to Europe and Australia.

But all they do is whinge and moan and blame Biden.

They have no friggen idea there's a whole wide world out there.

It could work as a new Lemmy logo.

Just anecdotally I already see so many BYD electric cars around. Teslas are also insanely popular with so many of them on the road especially in Sydney. However with Elon's recent more obvious alignment with MAGA I think that option has become much less palatable to the average Aussie.

While I sympathize a little, just move to another platform already.

The signs were there though. Take for example the fact that the USA is the only first world country without some form of decent public healthcare. We'd always joke about it but it has always been a red flag signalling how many Americans felt about their fellow countrymen.

Same for guns etc. And now finally the chickens have come back to roost.

What I still don't get is where are the Republican corporate donors and lobbyists on this? It sounds like big oil and big pharma and all the other "bigs" are against this.

Trump being so transactional.. who is benefitting from this?

I guess that includes"now" too.

Pretty sure they're not boycotting thanksgiving and just boycotting him. They'll probably have the best thanksgiving together in years.

I hate mowing but I do it because if I get someone else to do it they'll do it wrong.
