Thank you both for the replies. Looks like hitchhiking and crossing on foot will be the way to go.

Someone in our Hostel mentioned that there was a ferry across but we couldn't find any information or any other source that this was true and they weren't sure were from so sounds like that ones a skip.

Montenegro is beautiful though, wish we had more time here.

Hey,

A mate and i are looking to travel from Bar, Montenegro to Shkodër, Albania. Looking on Rome2Rio the way there seems really annoying and turning it into an over six hour day. You have to go back up and around Shkodra Lake via Podgorica. The drive direct is only one hour if we had a car however. Does anyone know any ways or local bus lines that will go this route or can suggest anyway to get closer to the border to possibly hitchhike over.

Thank you Kyle + Friend

Hello fellow travelers!

I'm planning a trip to Bulgaria and Turkey, and I'm considering crossing the land border between the two countries by bus. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this route and could provide some guidance.

Here are a few questions I have:

Has anyone traveled by bus from Bulgaria to Turkey or vice versa? What was your experience like?

How long does the bus journey take from the Bulgarian border to the Turkish border, and are there any significant delays to be expected?

I appreciate any insights, tips, or personal experiences you can share. Thank you in advance for your help!

Happy travels!
