Is this the full interview or the clip from the episode? I haven't watched it but the Chapos say in their episode about the Hillary show that it was obvious they cut Contra off right before she started explaining how the status quo wasn't fixing the problem they were talking about, which seems like exactly what they would do.

I think that the rise of loli content in mainstream anime is directly tied to CP being outlawed in Japan in 2014. (production became illegal in 1999, but that didn't stop dvds from circulating and then of course the Internet got big)

Actual CP being illegal in Japan didn't make the mass market for it that existed in 2013 go away, or undo the decades of normalization that it had from being a mass produced (if niche) product. Its consumers dispersed and started making demands of adjacent industries to pander to them - thus the growth of so-called "junior idols" which ride the line of legality to appeal to pedos, and an increasing demand on anime for loli content.

IMO it's a clear example of how doing the bare minimum fails and you need a large scale social engineering project to fix large scale social problems. The Japanese government cannot solve the problem of normalized pedophilia without forming a Comics Code Authority and banning this shit at all levels and blacklisting authors who refuse to stop producing it (meanwhile the producers of junior idols all get the wall).

The Big Bang Theory started in 2007. I can't think of a more recent one but then again i don't watch much.

And the ones that didn't were frequently grabbed by cops (who had been slave catchers before the war) for the recently-invented crimes of vagrancy and loitering and sent to prison-plantations.

Snyder's Watchmen lifts so much of its cinematography and script directly from Moore's book that they gave him a writer's credit. honestly its impressive how, despite that, Snyder managed to turn Rorschach into the main POV and sideline the actual main character Night Owl just through which scenes were given more screentime and how the editing framed the characters.

Is the show actually cool or is this a one-off moment like Squidward going on strike?

either way I should watch it. maybe I'll be able to steer the cytube towards it after we finish Gundam.

As footage of Japanese civilians with their skin peeling off played on the screen, the audience of Americans was laughing hysterically as if they were watching Charlie Chaplin or the Marx Brothers.

Worth remembering that while Sarkeesian was one of the principal targets of Gamer Gate, it initially got started when an ~~woman~~ NB made a text adventure that got good reviews and people freaked and assumed she slept with a reviewer for them.

Everyone here is talking about the stories, but I want to add a point about how the hobby itself makes you really buy into the universe.

There's this concept in tabletop that sometimes called "Your Dudes", which basically describes how incredibly attached you get as a player to an army if you take the opportunity to customize them. My own Sisters of Battle aren't just pixels on a screen that I spawn in when I have enough command points, I remember painting literally every single on of their guns, liveries, and armored corsets. I've thought of names for each of the squads and applied little color variations to them so I can tell them apart on the board. I know the names of the sergeants and exactly what bits and pieces of wargear I attached to each of them so I can swap them in and out based on my army list. I have a whole backstory about how they come from a feudal planet and their liveries are super colorful because it's their family's banner.

Anyway I think that people who actually play the game get way more attached to the universe than in other hobbies, and that drives them to want to bend over backwards to explain why their faction is the Good Guys, actually.

They're in the gameplay trailer. The design is the same.
