I've had this idea for ages about someone who goes back to like 1000 AD and tries to introduce germ theory, disinfecting surfaces and medical devices with alcohol, etc. The conflict comes from them having to overcome medieval institutions being resistant to change, starting with them naively writing a treatise on what is currently considered medical common sense but getting rebuked for apparently not knowing what they're talking about.

Naturally, the main character wears a cute version of a plague doctor outfit.

Um, excuse me, sir? Is it really a good idea to attack the Rebel Alliance with just this battle station? Shouldn't we gather a full complement of escort craft for the attack?

Excuse me, sir? If we want to prevent them from escaping, why 'disable' the hard drive on their ship? Why not just take the ship, or put a bunch of our guys guarding it?

Sir? Excuse me, but with the ongoing war, should we really be guarding the energy shield base with one squad at the door? Why not do regular sweeps of the forest nearby with all of our manpower?

I always say that the mistake filmmakers make is that they don't want to make their character truly cringe. You've got to have the Fight Club guy go into his room and the walls are covered with underage anime characters and he wanks himself to sleep while clutching a body pillow and dirty talking to it.

Actually, Marxists should let capitalists do all the bad things and never oppose them.

pointing out bad things is anti-Marxist

I would argue that pointing out bad things is an essential first step in Marxism.

The coming climate apocalypse is bad.

You moron. You swine. You sniveling worm. Can't you see that pointing out that something is bad when you can't fix it is anti-materialist!?

iirc Greta's said some socialisty stuff lately, but she really hasn't been relevant since before the pandemic either way.

US hegemony will continue to disintegrate, but the US military will continue to bomb and invade countries regardless. Much like the Roman empire, we will still be winning battles all the way up until our army collapses for economic reasons.

Iran will have a cultural revolution. Hard to say whether it will manifest as an explosion of art and music or a series of explosions and a civil war - I'm sure the CIA will push for the latter but the average Iranian will go for the former.

EU will go full fash, but unlike the fascists of the 20th century the brown wave will be too heavily tied up with neoliberal projects to do anything besides scapegoat minorities and virtue signal. Things will get worse for European Jews, Roma, Muslims, LGBT, etc but the only genocide that will be of non-Europeans at the border.

Red wave in southeast Asia, red wave in India, red wave in Africa and South America. The 2020s is the decade where all of the third worldists get proven right!
