Brave (nah on second thought, Fuck Brave, techbro crypto-ad scheme and proprietary tooling)

Homophobic CEO too, he tries to keep this buried.

Edit: For those who don't want to go through the link or incase it's ever down:

  • 2008 donation of $1000 to California Proposition 8, which called for the banning of same-sex marriage in California
  • donations in the amount of $2,100 to Proposition 8 supporter Tom McClintock between 2008 and 2010.
  • Resigned from the Mozilla CEO position after only 11 days in 2014 because of pressure over these donations and views
  • Went on to start funding Brave in 2015 then releasing in 2016

I know they're probably doing this about the nude Chun Li tournament thing, but all this is going to do is both annoy people, and get people to learn how to pirate just to be able to play the game they already bought. Probably guaranteeing more piracy for their future games too. (Looking at you Dragon's Dogma 2).

I don't understand why they all self-sabotage like this, they added bait-and-switch to their reputation when people think of Capcom.

This one's great, if you wanna hide your IP from Google servers for whatever reason you can make it proxy through your invidious instance on top of sourcing from it. (enable proxy, disable fallback to non-preferred backend), also way more user-friendly than a lot of other YouTube clients I've seen

I mainly use Piped in browser but I export subscriptions to Freetube every now and then as a backup for when the instance I use is down or being throttled hard, might switch entirely some time but I like not having to export my subscriptions every now and then for mobile

This happens to me too sometimes when I reload the page or open a post. I'll see it logged in as someone else for a few seconds then it flashes back to my username again

Recently finished Devil May Cry 5, about to pick up the rest of the series and play it sometime. Thinking about playing State of Decay 2 a bit soon, I always come back to that game for a bit every now and then.

The main game I'm hyped for 2024 so far is Dragon's Dogma 2

Still holding out for Bloodborne but I've got a backlog of games to get through so that's keeping my time.

I'm can't decide if I'd prefer a genuine PC port, or a PS4 emulator though. Maybe both, both is good.

Offering my perspective as someone new to Hexbear, I was one of those people who were initially scared off from Hexbear because of this

Before it was blocked, I was reading through discussions where a lot of people from Hexbear were having their comments removed as "trolling" or similar despite having perfectly valid points to talk on. It made me realize I was in an echo chamber which led to me occasionally coming here to lurk for a while before eventually making an account, and got me curious to challenge some of my views that I've always had as a "default".

My point being, I feel being authentic to your views and not giving into pressure to be hushed down is more important than being normie-friendly to get more people, but those people still having major preconceived beliefs that aren't actually their own, just what they were told is correct.

Mostly Debian Stable with KDE + backported kernel, deb for most apps, flatpak for any not in repos or problematic with stable versions like Telegram.

Had a go with Tuxedo OS recently and liked it initially, but it was a bit buggy and still relatively new, so back to Debian I went. Tuxedo is sort of like Pop!_OS with the kernel and mesa, except it uses up to date KDE as the DE.

Love Bottles, it's been so useful for me. Sadly always had issues with Lutris despite it seeming to work well for most people.

I use Heroic launcher for most things, and Bottles as a fallback for any other games it doesn't support, hasn't failed me yet.
