OK, then I just wait and stop using this account until such feature gets implemented. Deletion is not an option as it would also delete all posts/comments. At least local ones, maybe even posts/comments on other instances. Dunno, if the User/Delete Activity is propagated to other instances (yet).

Bye and Thanks for all your hard work!

No, I meant lock as in disable login, remove email address, 2FA and freeze all content. This feature might not yet exist in lemmy but it probably should be implemented. Apart from a user leaving this might actually be required to properly handle a user passing away.

Lock this account here, I mean.

I thought beehaw.org defederating from us would not affect post/comments on shared source instances, e. g. lemmy.wtf, which is neither defederated from beehaw.org nor us:

https://lemmy.world/post/149743

Why do I see posts/comments from beehaw users on communities outside lemmy.world and beehaw.org?

That's because the "true" version of those posts is outside beehaw. So we get updates from those posts. And lemmy.world didn't defederate beehaw, so posts/comments from beehaw users can still come to versions hosted on lemmy.world.

https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fep/src/branch/main/fep/1b12/fep-1b12.md#the-announce-activity

After the group successfully verifies and wraps the received activity, it sends it to the inboxes of its followers. Followers then use the outer Announce activity to verify that the content was really approved by the group. After this step the Announce can be discarded and only the inner activity shown to users.

Cloudflare Challenge?

Since lemmy.world is now behind Cloudflare, is it possible that federation is hit by Cloudflare Challenges as described here?

No federation from source to lemmy.world

No federation from lemmy.world to source

Note that I pulled my post to the source instance by searching for it from there, but updates/edits are still not federated. This post also has a reply from a lemmy.zip user which hasn't been federated to lemmy.world yet.

For the past days I've noticed that posts/comments I make on my lemmy.world account are not (or rather very slowly, if ever) federated to the source instance of the community and post/comments that are on the source are not (or rather very slowly, if ever) federated to the local copy on lemmy.world.

The result is again (as it was before 0.18.1) that lemmy.world users are living in a bubble in which they see each othery posts/comments but nobody else does.

Is this a known issues and is this going to be addressed?

Rubi just announced some changes that will go live when SotO is released. Apparently ArenaNet doubles down on disabling core mechanics (dodge or block damage) in this fractal.

Hi all, I want to let you know that we've been reading your feedback about Silent Surf and have some updates incoming.

As you can imagine we are all heads down on the final stretch before Secrets of the Obscure launches on August 22--only four more weeks! Our next full build is scheduled to ship then, so we'll include these updates with that.

For now though, I have an early look at the update notes for Silent Surf so you can see what the team is working on:

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused Captain Thess to have an incorrect effect icon during the third encounter.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Aspects from applying Extreme Vulnerability on Challenge mode when striking with Dread Visage.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to bypass World Cleaver.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the final boss to focus on attacking pets more than intended.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Peace and Quiet achievement did not require Master tier, causing it to be inconsistent with the achievement description. -Fixed an inconsistency with other Challenge mode encounters in fractals so defeated players can now be revived during the final encounter.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed Frightening Speed to be blocked.
  • Fixed a timing issue in the Challenge mode version of Dread Visage's large-eye warning effect that prevented it from detonating at the same time as the smaller eyes.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause an Aspect to return to the main platform during World Cleaver without selecting a new target for Phantasmagoria.
  • Fixed multiple issues with phase transitions and the synchronization of Dread Visage attacks:
    • The final boss and the Aspects no longer gain alacrity, regeneration, or quickness from boon-stealing attacks.
    • Sugar Rush has been removed from the list of Mistlock Instabilities for Silent Surf.

Other Updates

  • The final boss's health has been reduced on Challenge mode.
  • All checkpoints now require only two players regardless of fractal tier.
  • In addition to Sugar Rush, the following instabilities have been removed from Silent Surf: Mists Convergence and Toxic Sickness.

As always, thanks for your constructive feedback and keep it coming!

@[email protected] Duplicate. Already in SotO Megathread.

This is weird (the additional points from Annuals, I mean).

I finished (Annual) For Winds Customs for the first skin at around 100/200 of the weekly progress after about 4 days of doing little more than completing the festival dailies.

... which meant I needed to get 100 more points in the remaining 2 days of the first (shorter) week. And this was a surprise to me, since I was actually expecting to be on track for the weekly when doing a bit more than the dailies every day.

I thought Griffon Adventures do not count for the weekly?

Anyway, without Blitz you'll need to complete 200 / 3 = 67 activities per week or rather 9.5 (11) Time Trials per day, if you actually do this every day (first festival week not even has 6 full days). Or to put it differently: 3 Time Trials (3 points each) + 1 Blitz (10 points) per day only gets you to 133 points in 7 days (154, if you also do the Skiff Trial).

The Dragonbash Time Trail (Roller Beetle) grants 5 points and the Dragon Arena (which you can do whenever you want) grants 5 points per boss = 25 points for a full clear. So I would argue that this weekly is a lot faster and less tedious, e. g. 1 Time Trial (5 points) + 1 Full Dragon Arena (25 points) per day gets you to 210 points in 7 days.

I think the fastest way to get to 200 points at the current festival is to find an empty Queen's Gauntlet Ring and beat an easy opponent (10 seconds) over and over again for 3 points each. (And don't do this on a Mechanist, since your Mech will despawn at the end of each fight.)

I'd love that, too. At least let us apply dyes. And I'm actually surprised that ANet hasn't yet put Mech Skins in the gem store which have dye channels ...

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

A bit more points per activity, a bit less waiting and maybe a bit more variety would be nice. It's kinda odd that the fact that this year's weapon skins look nice (at least I like them) increases the risk of me getting Festival Fatigue.

I still remember how exciting I found festivals in the early days, but this is sadly long over. Now I find myself hoping for boring skins so that I feel I'm done after completing Annual Customs. I know this sounds weird, but that's actually how I feel.

How much time does ArenaNet expect us to spend on Festival Activities in a week? This year's main incentive are probably the additional Sun-Grown Weapon (Skins).

I finished (Annual) For Winds Customs for the first skin at around 100/200 of the weekly progress after about 4 days of doing little more than completing the festival dailies. From there on it gets pretty tedious to get more skins, but you can only get 1 annual + 3 (or 4, ouch!) weekly chests anyway this year. Then why make it so time-consuming (and boring) to get them?

I'm going to get a few (probably 3, e. g. Longbow, Greatsword and Hammer) for my Ranger to complement the look of his Back item.

So, how many skins are you planning to get this year?

Even more single player content?

And here is MightyTeapot's video of the fight/kill for comparison. We all love playing circus horse simulator, right? And maybe the Axe Skin (reward) is just a placeholder.

This zone always gives me Pre-Searing vibes.

I've watched roughly half of the guides and I'd say they are a bit too much for a new player and actual experts will probably know most of the stuff being said ....

... but for a Casual Guild Wars Veteran like me they really hit the spot. There are still so many builds and parts/aspects of the game I haven't tried that I immeditely felt the itch again.

What a great game was and still is Guild Wars 1

Updates to the Specter and Scourge builds postponed after the July 18th patch for obvious reasons.

Hey all, Metabattle has put the finishing touches on our guide to the new fractal:

As usual, we've tried to pack in as much detail as possible, and it joins our ever-growing guides sections that now cover PvE, PvP and WvW!

The guide will also be updated to include CM mechanics when that arrives.

I have to go through the "forgot password" procedure everrytime I'm relogging, i. e. after deleting the lemmy.world site data in my browser.

I can use (enter and verify) the same password without problems, but a normal login is curently not possible.

Update: I was able to login now. Did not change anything on my side. It just suddenly worked. Fingers crossed.
