I'm currently using lutris with wine-ge-8-26. I'm not aware of any dependencies as I've set everything about a year ago, I usually just update the wine version (via protonup) and reuse the prefix for other games unless they require some workarounds. I also limit FG installer to 2gb ram, It's slower, but I had problems without it before even on windows machines.

My recommendation is to just try bunch of them and see which one fits your needs or you like using the most.

Try both manual tiling and auto tiling for both X11 and Wayland, one will eventually stick.

I started with AwesomeWM, then tried bunch of other ones , and to my surprise, I found myself using DWM (flexipatch) the most. I'm planning to transition to Hyprland soon.

Just use what you like and don't pay much attention about the reviews.

Yup, zig was the way to go when I did it too.

If you're already using keepassxc, you can import OTP codes and use that. That's what I do when my phone is not around to use aegis. It's not as pretty, but it works.

You can try with location.replace or history.replaceState if you're not using some framework (i.e. Angular), otherwise they usually have their own way of dealing with this. You could always change the logic of your steps 3 and 4. Someone else could probably add a better answer than this. Sorry for formatting, I'm writing from the phone.
