Cr Johnston is being especially fiery today, butting heads with the Chair multiple times. She was formally reprimanded multiple times and in turn she dissented against his rulings.

"Mr Chairman, you are a grub and I dissent in your ruling".

LNP members calling for her to be removed from the meeting but so far the Chair has resisted.

She claimed its budget is four times the homelessness program budget, but not sure the dollar figure. It was a stunt motion really and she kind of poisoned it by claiming it's marketing for the mayor and LNP councillors. Maybe there's some bias there but whenever I've looked at it, it's mostly just generic what's on and what happened kind of content.

It was in response to Cr Howard's stunt motion again calling on the state govt to use Pinkenba for crisis accomodation. And to round it off there was another stunt motion from Cr Cassidy calling on BCC to support the federal govt's Housing Australia Future Fund.

Cr Collier moves a motion to reallocate all funding for the Living in Brisbane newsletter to the Pathways out of Homelessness program for the remainder of the year. Voted down of course.

There were kazoos. You missed the kazoos!

Petition to replace the lord's prayer with councillors playing Waltzing Matilda on kazoos

Need more pixels again, but did Cr Cunningham subtly give Cr Johnston the bird when she said she was disappointed with her silence on the issue?

The southside stations were identified as a bottleneck for the increased throughput that CRR adds, so Fairfield to Salisbury are getting extra platforms and raised existing platforms to better support NGR. And I think they rolled in the long overdue accessibility upgrades at the same time. AFAIK that was always the plan from the start, but there was also the late addition of the 3 new stations on the GC that have somehow been tacked on to the CRR project.

That street gets pretty busy during peak with drop-offs and commuters, and there's access to the shopping centre too (which could/should be easily closed). But yeah I wouldn't have thought it would be super high priority.

She has been fighting for that crossing for years. The Fairfield station upgrade is part of the Cross River Rail project, but the fight started long before any of that construction began.

Cr Johnston and someone else (maybe Cr Massey?) called him out specifically on Twitter.

Plus he has form: 14/06/2023 minutes (.doc file warning)

Councillor JOHNSTON: The LORD MAYOR stood up in this place and he put out a glossy brochure. He said, there’s going to be a second bridge and he and the Councillor for Walter Taylor Ward are on a unity ticket to see thousands more cars come through our area. Well I’m not—I mean the Councillor for Walter Taylor Ward is actually repeatedly blowing raspberries at the moment, which I think is kind of offensive but, you know, as he turns his chair and turns his back, I mean I guess that’s just how he rolls in this place.

Enhance (shame it's not 4K)

Cr Mackay continues to show disrespect to Cr Johnston, this time by blowing raspberries at her. The chair called the behaviour out but not the councillor specifically ("whoever made that noise ...") but it was very obviously him. He's an embarrassment.

Julia Dixon, Senior Policy Advisor at Property Council of Australia. She'll fit right in.

I haven't really ventured outside this community yet. Guess I should have a look around.
