Not the person you were replying to, and don't understand exactly what you mean with port and device id. But if it changes every time, -ish, you plug it in, do you mean like /dev/sdX device names? If so, then maybe look at /dev/disk/by-TYPE/ and use those instead? You have stuff there which is the same each time you plug in.

My first language is Swedish, and we just call it "Fia med knuff", "med knuff" meaning basocally "pushing allowed", indicating you do not play with wimpy rules where you are allowed to share spot. "Fia", might be a name?

What language did you think I speak which made you guess "parchisi"?

The small nazi phenomena can be modelled by a perturbative expansion

N = 1 + a^1^ + a^2^ + a^3^ + ...

As long as the relative smaller nazi size, represented by 'a', is smaller than one the series converges and you are not a nazi. When 'a' is larger than one, the smaller nazi in the small nazis is actually bigger, e.g. a^2^ > a, and you are in the nonperturbative regime of the small nazi model, and you'd be called a "full blown nazi". AdS/CFT postulates you can model the nonperturbative regime with a tankie-description, but the theory is controversial.

I have been forced to use mac now for like a year, and I don't get the whole "just works" opinion of it. Like I have had so many issues with just basic stuff. Turning off mouse acceleration and the mouse still feels all slimy. Highest mouse speed is so slow and setting it higher requires some crazy tricks, which also does not work consistently through boots. It can't wake up a lot of monitors, I have to turn them off and on manually. If it cannot connect to a monitor properly but tries, it like disables your keyboard for a few seconds while trying. Some items in the settings menu take a long time to load, as in if I reboot, log in, open settings, there is no mouse settings.

Where is Linux?! Surely it must be on the top, I be reading (manuals), "foregin" language (bash), writing (scripts). Right?

A tensor is something that transform as a tensor. Gtfo Christoffel symbols.

That is why they can be written really neatly in a relativistic formulation, but look fucked up in a classical one.

Hi,

I'm looking for some way to send my own alerts via e-mail in some way. Whenever I try to search for this, most docker images have a much grander goal, and I have a hard time understanding how to use them for my purpose.

What would I want? It'd be nice to have a docker running some smpt-server (I suppose), so that I can make my own python script that scrapes a website, looks at some metric, and e-mails me whenever whatever I'm looking for is found. I only want it to be available on and to receive mails from localhost, no dns, just forward e-mails to my personal one, no web-interface, etc.

I'm quite new to self-hosting, but I hope you still understand what I'm looking for. Is it possible? Should I look for another solution? Will this not work? Any help/input very much welcome.
