Yet another plug for Calibre. Best I've found for customizing and troubleshooting PDF conversions.

We are all so screwed

Glad it helped!

I haven't either, but I also realize for me that's survivorship bias. It must have enough issues that they're trying to weasel this into their TOS.

Why YSK: You should know that you can protect yourself as a buyer or a seller as anyone who uses Etsy. It's a very popular sales platform and they're making some changes to prevent class action lawsuits against any shenanigans they might pull against buyers and sellers on the platform. You have the ability to opt out of this to protect yourself; the linked article explains how to do this.

Same. Kbin isn't bad on mobile or the app-ish mobile version on Android, but it is not the same as a dedicated app.

I actually came up with an idea - there's a woodstove in the room, so we are going to frame it out and make it look like deliberate tall, skinny log storage. We'll see how it goes.

Dishonored series. Coolest system I've ever played - teleportation, possession, and some fascinating level design in the sequel where you jump between times with magic. So cool, in fact, that I've had dreams that I have the Dishonored powers.

That's an interesting concept, I'll have to find some inspiration to figure out what that would look like

Thanks, I completely agree. It is beyond ugly.

  • Your first point: there is actually NO space above the support beam. Our HVAC guy grabbed a ladder and showed us. That beam is like 2-3 feet deep and goes all the way up. And they can't cut through because we're on a mountain and it has to support several hundred pounds of snow load.

  • There is truly nowhere else to put the ducting. We walked all through the area with the HVAC guy and suggested idea after idea and there is physically no other location to run it. Hiding it is the only option, as horrifying as it is, unless we tear out the entire new HVAC system (which we can't do).

Need help figuring out how to hide this U ducting. Direct link to the Imgur album (so sorry if this is not the right way to share, still trying to figure out how to create a thread properly. Tried to add with new photo but it wouldn't let me add by URL): https://imgur.com/a/9xdkYrP

Background: We're finishing our basement and changing to ducting for HVAC. The HVAC contractor called us in and showed us this U duct next to the support beams in the middle of the room. There is no way - and I mean NO WAY - to do anything else with this U. The ducting has to cross there and the beam has no space above it. The floor joists also apparently run the wrong way so they can't just put the ducting up above and to the side.

So we need to figure out what to do to hide this. It has completely stumped us and our GC. Drywall a weird U in front of this post? Make a fake cabinet? Build it out and put fake lights in front of it? Totally lost.

Meta has shown repeatedly that they aren't trustworthy. This is like watching a wolf eat every one of your chickens in the coop and then swearing up and down that if you let it in the hen house, it won't touch the chickens in there. Absolutely zero chance that they aren't going to try to take over and steal data and control it. Why else are they trying to come in? These corporations don't make moves like this unless they see a potential profit. I vote block.

I second the flat shoes, also helped my knee pain. I also like my cervical neck device, which helps move tension out of the neck and back and can help with lower back pain. Don't forget to check your chair or your mattress, too. My philosophy is to always invest money in the things that separate me from the ground. You can also work on strengthening your TVA to help support the lower back, as well.

Possibly an orange glaze

The BuyItForLife subreddit is trying to figure out what to do with the changes hitting Reddit and some really interesting points about possible attempts to advertise products that aren't really BIFL. Would be great if we could encourage them to come here. Edit to add link that won't let Reddit track you: https://teddit.adminforge.de/r/BuyItForLife/comments/14dnxaf/post_blackout_reddit_and_the_future_of/
