I have always said that a bad crop year will wake up many to the problems we face as a civilization. We spend so much time in the inner world of the internet and computers that we have forgotten the outer world we exist in.

Seattle reporting in. It has been cooler than normal and much wetter than the past few years. I commented on this to my wife, who said "it's like how Seattle springs used to be!"

Yes... which is why it is kind of strange. Especially when I'm reading about other places that are on fire, breaking record temperatures, and extremely dry. I have no doubt it won't last. We'll soon be hotter than normal, choked with wildfire smoke, and praying for rain.

They have people astroturfing hard right now arguing that reddit is not wrong for anything they are doing

I'm in the process of setting up a raspberry pi to host an instance, but the documentation is not super helpful. I'll slog through it and issue a PR once co.plete so others may not have the same issues.

I was in college pre 2006 and didn't have the option to pirate books (that i knew of). If it was an option you're damn right I would have done it. My books were easily $300+ for the quarter and I can't imagine how much they are now.

It's unfortunate we have to even vet mainstream news anymore. They just publish whatever gets clicks without investigating.

I recently played MGS V the Phantom Pain. I hadn't played an MGS in years (since the original and MGS2 when it first came out). I forgot how very cool the story can be, and also how corny some of it can be :D
