The Republic of Belarus.
This morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin briefed his Belarusian counterpart on the situation in southern Russia with the private military company Wagner. The heads of state agreed on joint actions.
As a follow-up to the agreements, the President of Belarus, having additionally specified the situation through his own channels, and in agreement with the President of Russia, held talks with the head of PMC Wagner Yevgeny
Prigogine.
Negotiations continued throughout the day. As a result, they came to agreements on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloody massacre on the territory of Russia. Yevgeny Prigozhin accepted the proposal of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to stop the movement of armed persons of the Wagner company on the territory of Russia and take further steps to de-escalate tensions.
At the moment, on the table is an absolutely profitable and acceptable option for solving the situation, with security guarantees for the Wagner PMC fighters.
As previously reported, also during today, the President of Belarus held two meetings with the power bloc of the country on this situation."
That's some progress for no official/politician support. Who would have thought that we tracking a Russian convoy not going to a city in Ukraine but one in Russia going to the capital.

For what it's worth it is mentioned in the end of the blog post, the project is open source, people can run their own overseer API and create less strict or more strict whitelists, instances can also be registered to multiple chains. Don't mistake my enthousiasm for self run open social media platforms for trying to promote a single tool as the the be-all and end-all solution. Under the swiss cheese security model/idea, this could be another tool in the toolbox to curb the annoyance to a point where spam or bots become less effective. I'm not an instance admin nor am I a mod. I just started using Lemmy a couple of days ago. First, respect to you for taking the time to come up with solutions. I think your solution is at the limit of what you can do to keep bad actors from creating instances and start spamming. We need to accept it will not solve all the spam. Just like there's is still spam in the comment section on YouTube but alot less compared to a year or so ago. But, maybe having a more granular trust system of instances could be a solution to prevent smaller instances from being locked out. For example a new instance would be allowed to be whitelisted sooner than they would be allowed to endorse or guarantee other instances? Or doesn't that work in the case of Lemmy?

Ukraine has no air superiority and cannot call in helicopters or airstrikes at the same rate as Russia.

*Circumstances, no air superiority, 4 different tank platforms to maintain, times the amount of ifv platforms and artillery. Something we forget, no navy, less electronic warfare hardware. Being cruise missiled every night, on civilian and military targets. Ammo shortages, as in cannot fire wall of fire amount of shells like the Russians do. No where near the same amount of bodies to throw into the battle.
