i cannot fit a ssd in my phone, and i only have 16gigs of soldered emmc so yeah flatpak isn't an option for me, i keep my aur packages...

can you provide more information ? like what are you trying to do ? if this happen while launching steam itself or something else? are you trying to launch a linux binary with proton ?

on my laptop there is a Fn key combinasion to switch between them... btw i don't think it's possible to trigger this from the Os side of thing, it is tied to the firmware...

it's not there yet but in a few years from now there is hope, a vulkan driver is in the work and the nvidia signed firmware would allow power management for newer gpu, but it's not ready yet...

i realy think any distro will do there isn't any real differences... i use arch on my steamdeck (regular arch not steamos) and it's realy great even for such soc (zen2 based) it consumes less than 3watts at idle that's better than my intel kabylake laptop (3,6 w at idle) both on gnome wayland.

steamos was too limiting for me on the deck, endend up with regular arch, much betterer

Btw it makes using other OSs painful when you are used to it...
