I recently did this on my desktop, and followed the instructions on the wiki

I used the rsync method and worked well for me.

Yeah, I thought it was a lemmy.world issue. Since ruud updated the server it's working fine.

Edit: I logged out and reset the cache since the server update and I'm having more issues with network. I noticed your note on the latest nightly though. Thanks for all your work.

Working well as well mostly. Occasionally having posts not load with a timeout issue, but could be because of lemmy.world? I really like the long press options, it's very handy.

+1 for Arch for desktop setups. If setup well, I have not really encountered my desktop system breaking, and if broken, usually can fix since it teaches you how to set up when you install the first time. Also, great documentation and forums.

You can search for communities, and in the list you will get communities on other instances.
